Spring 2017: A Personal Message

Spring brings the hope of a new beginning, renewal, regeneration, and re-birth.   The days ahead will bring greater light and warmth to us after the darkness and cold of Winter.  New life and beauty emerges in the form of puppies being born, cherry blossoms, daffodils and dandelions.  I pray for something new to be birthed inside of me.  This Friday marks six months since my beautiful son, Anton was killed by a drunk driver traveling the wrong way on the Interstate highway, hitting him head on just as he crested a small hill.  There were no brake marks.  The woman who hit him died on impact, and miraculously my son was alive and calling for help when emergency rescue workers arrived at the scene.  Several brave rescue workers tried to remove him from his vehicle, but his legs were pinned under the dash. They had to cease their efforts when they heard a popping in the engine, knowing it would soon explode.  It did, and he burned to death inside his car.  He was only 23 years old, a recent college graduate, and just beginning to live his life.

Anton’s passions were music, food, sake, and being with people he loved.  He created  music and wanted to be a professional musician.  He had begun playing his own music at venues in the year before his death.  He had a great spirit, an enormous heart and a zest for life that is not often seen.  He touched many lives and his death sent shock waves through the entire community.  Well over two hundred people attended his service to pay their final respects to a beautiful soul.  In a single moment one can lose a loved one, and all that remains are memories.  Four days before he was killed we shared dinner together on our back portal –  a delightful evening of feasting, laughing and heart-felt connecting that I will cherish forever.

With Anton’s death a part of me died, leaving a gaping hole and an incinerator of constantly burning pain.  I didn’t know it was humanly possible to hurt so much or to cry so many tears.   I weep for the loss of my son, and for the death of other children and the parents who survive them.  I weep for the desecration and disregard for this magnificent earth. I weep for injustice, poverty, sickness, loneliness, and for all who are suffering.

Yesterday I did a shamanic journey and heard the words “everything dies and everything gets re-born again.”   It is nature.  Without the death and darkness of Winter we would not have the light and re-birth of Spring.   I hope that Spring comes again for me someday.  I know Anton’s Spirit is alive as he has appeared to me several times.  I can take some solace in knowing that he is in the Light, in a place of beauty, love, and peace and that he is not suffering.  If you are reading this post, I hope this Spring brings the birthing of something new and wonderful to your world, and may your hearts, minds, bodies and spirits be renewed with the greatest of Light and Love.

In honor of my son Anton who will always live in my heart.

Shamanic Journey Workshop April 15-17, 2016

Happy Winter Solstice!

Winter Solstice, 12/21/2015 – the longest night of the year and the turning point where our days will become longer and we will experience more light.  It is an ancient celebration of the return of the Light and it also happens to occur toward the end of our calendar year.

Clients and friends have remarked to me that 2015 was one of the most difficult and challenging years.  Many have experienced loss of loved ones, divorce/separation, job loss, financial losses, and serious health issues.  For many it has been a time of much darkness… and yet, the dark holds knowledge, information and teaching, and is part of the natural cycle in the wheel of life.   In the Native Medicine Wheel the direction of the North is the season of winter and it holds great power.  The north is where the ancestors, ancient ones, wise ones and sages reside, and it is a place of deep wisdom hidden in the dark places. It is also the place of death and darkness. In winter the trees and plants die back, with root systems going mostly dormant in the quiet and stillness of winter. Without the death and darkness of winter in the north, we would not have the re-birth and new life and light in the spring of the east. It is the cycle of nature.

We too are part of nature’s cycle and the darkness is a natural part of the seasons of our own life.   Everything has a season and must be honored. We must learn and grow from the darkness so that we may welcome in the re-birth of the light on this Winter Solstice.

You may wish to consider a few things on this Winter Solstice.   First, looking back upon this year and the dark times that have occurred for you, what can you learn from it?  Is there a message from the difficult times?  More compassion?  Forgiving yourself and/or others?  Loving yourself more?  Learning to say no?   Letting go of someone you loved? Releasing obstacles and blockages that have held you back?  Changing a thought pattern or belief system?  The dark is a powerful teacher and it is wise to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from it in order to move forward and welcome in the Light.

Once you have gained some clarity around the teachings from the dark, then you are poised to release your own personal darkness.  This can be done through ceremony and ritual.  This evening I conducted a drumming Solstice and ceremony circle in which we used ritual to release the inner darkness – darkenss that holds heartache, pain, grief, loss, sorrow, self-doubt, anger, and disappointments, etc.  Ritual is a powerful way to release the unwanted and old, and to have transformation and even catharsis in your life.  It can be done in any multidude of manners.  One example is to write down all the things that you wish to release from this past year, build a fire, tossing your paper in and ask the Spirit of the Fire to carry it away.

After releasing you are ready to welcome the return of the Light.  Where you would like the Light to shine into your life?   Where you place your focus, the energy will flow and expand. What are your hopes, dreams, desires, aspirations, and wishes for this Solstice and the New Year? What do you want to give energy and Light to?  Breathe the Light and new life into your hopes, wishes and desires.  Allow the Light to come into your body and anchor it into the earth and then expand this Light outside your body into your home, your work, your city and expand it further throughout all the planet. As we bring the Light into our bodies and shine it outward, we not only heal ourselves, we help to heal the planet too.

Wishing you all a Happy Solstice and may you have a blessed holiday and a healthy, prosperous, peaceful and joy-filled New Year.

Blessings, Love and Light, Robin

Shamanic Journeying for Teenagers

New Workshop:   Shamanic Journeying for Teenagers, 13-18 years old

When:  Early 2016, TBA

Where:  Private residence, Santa Fe, NM

Cost:  $190

Announcing a new workshop specifically for teenagers to learn the ancient art of the shamanic journey and to learn about energy.  Through my work as a therapist in private practice and in the public schools, as a shamanic healer, and as a mom, I have witnessed how often teenagers have felt powerless or helpless as they strive to deal with the myriad of life’s challenges while trying to mature and individuate in their world and obtain success.   Teens, like the rest of us, face issues and stressors, including school, peer pressure, bullying, self-image, relationship and family issues, such as divorce or separation, etc.   Teaching teens how to journey can provide them with valuable skills and tools for personal empowerment and growth, guidance, direction, wisdom, self-confidence and assistance with problem solving and coping.

In this workshop, teens will learn how to access altered states of consciousness through rattling and drumming in order to locate and dialogue with a power ally and a spirit teacher. Students will also be led in experiential exercises to learn and understand how energy works, both their own energy and the impact they have on others, as well as the energy of other people and in the collective field.

To enroll your teen in the workshop, please contact me as soon as possible, at robincathleencoale@gmail.com  or 505-690-0671.  Space will be limited to 10 students. Each participant will need to bring either a drum or rattle, a cover for the eyes, such as an eye pillow or a scarf, a blanket and/or yoga mat, and a notebook for taking notes.

Robin is a licensed psychotherapist, shamanic healer, teacher and channel who has experience working with children ages 5-18 years old in private practice and in public as well as private school settings.  She teaches workshops in shamanism, energy and mastering self-healing in the US and Europe.

Mastering Self-Healing: New Workshop, Nov 1, 2015

Mastering Self-Healing is a new workshop designed to offer highly accessible and practicalexercises and techniques to anyone wanting to be unburdened from pain, trauma, negativebeliefs and thought forms which are interfering with living an authentic life joyfully and abundantly.   Living authentically requires conscious awareness and mastery so that the light and truth of who you truly are – and who you came here to be – as a divine being can shine.  The material taught in this workshop is the culmination and blending of twenty-five years on the shamanic path and fifteen years of practice as a psychotherapist.

In this class the participant can expect:

* to be able to understand how energy works both in the quantum field and in the body; to examine ways in which different energies affect the body and how to work with and manage these energies, including learning how to be more seen, heard and understood by expanding and radiating your energy field; and learn to discern what energies are yours versus the energy of others.

* to learn how to do body scans for release of unwanted energy and energetic blockages stemming from cords, trauma, pain and negative beliefs. Professor William Tiller of Stanford University said, “Future medicine will be based on controlling energy in the body.”

* to identify the untruths that you have been told and/or adopted in your life and which reside as programs operating inside of your body (i.e. “I’m not good enough”, I’m not worthy”, etc.) and to release them and replace them with a new life-script.

*to use guided imagery to take charge and reign in aspects or sub-personalities of yourself that have too much control or power in your life, such as harsh criticism and self-judgement, self-sabotoge, or the part of self that can’t say no and gives too much.

* to learn how to listen to the heart and your intuition and make decisions based upon your truth (as opposed to decisions that are made from mind or ego).

IMG_1766This course has been in the works for a long time and I am happy to announce that it is finally being birthed on Sunday, November 1, 2015.  For more information or questions, you may contact Robin at 505-690-0671 or email: robincathleencoale@gmail.com.  If you would like to reserve a space in the class, please mail a check for a non-refundable deposit of $90.00 to Robin Coale at 637 Camino Lejo, Santa Fe, NM 87505.  Credit cards are also accepted. The balance for the workshop is due by October 23, 2015.

Living the Truth of Who You Are

Do you speak your truth?  Do you have congruence between your feelings, your words, and your actions?  Do you live authentically or do you mold yourself into what other people want you to be?   Do you allow others to project onto you who they want you to be while you hide your true self and your own wants, needs, desires and your voice?  Have you become so overly identified in your roles of being and doing, such as mother/father, wife/husband, friend, daughter/son, employee/employer that you forget who you are?

In the last year I have been on a journey to find my truest self, before I got lost in marriage, child rearing, and my vocations, first in California legislative politics and then as a psychotherapist and shamanic healer.  One morning a few months ago I awakened and knew without a doubt that I needed to re-claim my maiden name – the name I was given at birth.  I realized my children are now at an age that they could not only accept but understand my desire to take back my own name, which is different from the name they carry.  When I married the man who is father to my boys, I gave all of myself for love and for creating my family. I love being a mom, but I lost myself in my role as mom and wife in addition to all the other roles I have.  I see so many people who have done the same – given themselves and their power away to spouses, partners, children, family, friends and even to their jobs.  I believe I lost some of my authenticity and connection with my truest self in the process of doing.  And I am just now beginning to re-claim her.  I am pleased to announce that I am now legally and officially returned to my birth name of Robin Cathleen Coale.  It feels right and it feels good.

I am not advocating that all women who are or were married and still carry their spouses last name that they change it.  I’m simply sharing that this is part of my process of being authentically myself again.  I encourage all who are reading this to ask yourselves, “What is my Truth and am I living it?”  If you are not in your Truth, then why not?  What holds you back?  Ask yourselves what would be the consequence of being in your Truth?  As you go through your day, be aware of what you say and do.  Is it based on your Truth?  I have been watching what I say, what I do and what I write to make certain it is authentic.   Once you begin your inquiry you may be surprised at what is revealed and who emerges.

Planetary energies and channeled messages

In the past 4 weeks, I have witnessed some of the most intense energies on the planet, as evidenced by the issues and emergencies presented by my clients as well as odd and highly unusual occurrences.  I have received three channeled messages, beginning Dec 27th, again on the 31st and then on Jan 3rd. The first two are from St. Germain, an Ascended Master who I am told is one of the “overseers” of our planet. The last one is from a council of Ascended Masters.  Up until now I have been too busy to get these published to you, but now I have taken the most salient portions from each and included them below for your information.

December 27, 2014:  St. Germain

Tell people to wake-up and awaken. Be conscious and mindful.  Humans are getting lost in technology, shopping, working, all the minutiae of daily life and forgetting their spirit light bodies and forgetting their connectedness to the great mother earth and to the central sun.  There will be more and more re-alignment of the planet earth and this will naturally be in the necessary form of catastrophic events for that is what is necessary to move the energies at this time.  This is what is necessary to awaken people.  Do not worry or become upset…for it is all in Divine Order… People will have opportunities to treat each other better and to help each other out. It is of paramount importance at this time to take care of your physical bodies for much demand will be placed upon them with the coming changes in the electromagnetic frequencies…Keep one foot in front of the next. Steadily.”

December 31, 2014:  St. Germain

“In any moment you can completely heal yourself.  Use the violet flame. There are many things happening upon the planet of which you are unaware.  A great battle is stilll waging and your best recourse is to continue focusing upon the Light and doing your inner and outer work.  The last two weeks there has been an unprecedented level of dark pounding, fighting for its very survival. It’s losing its grip on domination, but it continues to hit hard in many areas of the planet.  In addition, there is great activity in the spheres.  Battles are also waging in the galaxy and the sun is highly activated at this time, emitting energies that are casuing great electromagnetic disturbance in the earth’s field.  Hold onto your hats.  Be grounded and centered.  Live cleanly and stay focused. Know and understand this is all part of Divine Order, even though it may seem difficult to take.”

January 3, 2015: Council of Ascended Masters

People are still walking around blindly, not comprehending the fact that we are all connected. Events in Syria, Greece, Indonesia, and China are not isolated or disconnected, they are part of the whole. What happens in every part of the world affects all of us… And conversely, every action, word, thought you take affects the whole.  It’s like a great pot and we are each making a contribution to its contents.  The more you raise your awareness, the more you practice loving acts of kindness toward yourself and others, the more conscious you are of how you walk this planet, with honor, respect and love for all, the greater your contributuion to the healing of the planet….you can also make powerful contributions to the betterment of this planet, to its healing, by healing yourself and by being conscious in each and every moment. Think about what you are contributing/placing in the energy field each day.  Are your words uplifting?  Are they defeating?  Do they tear down or condemn? Or are they of a negative gossiping nature?  Few things are as harmful as gossiping about another, for you are literally tearing down yourself when you engage in this activity.  Are you sitting in judgment against other people?  If you are, you are but throwing negativity into the field and your judgments will come careening right back at you in another way. The old saying is indeed far more true than you can imagine – treat others as you would like to be treated. This is not just a nice phrase, a wishful hope. This is part of Universal Law… all energy moves in circles.  The way you treat other people will come back to you in a circular fashion…the same with your actions. It is the law of karma, and thus, you reap what you sow.  This is not a morality lesson but part of Universal Law.

We wish you blessings, great abundance, joy, happiness, love and health this New Year and beyond – for it is your Divine birthright to have all of this – but you must claim it and begin to live life consiously and according to Universal Law and Divine Principles.

New Year’s Message 2015

Happy New Year to All!  Instead of making New Year’s resolutions, I would like to propose that you take this time to reflect on all that you have done and accomplished and all that you are.  There is nothing wrong with resolutions to improve oneself, but inherent in resolutions is the acknowledgement that we fell short or failed in some way.  Can you take the time and give yourself the gift of honoring yourself?  Honor all that is both ordinary and extraordinary about you and your life.  If you are a mother, honor yourself for all the many things you have selflessly done and continue to do on a daily basis for your children (need I name them all?  The list is far too long…)   If you are in an intimate relationship or have been in one, honor yourself for being vulnerable and open to love, for giving, and for making efforts at nurturing the relationship to be healthy, solid, and mutually supporting. If you have cared for an elderly family member, friend or someone who is/was battling illness, honor yourself for your loving compassionate care and for the giving of your time. If you work, whether it is for an employer, for yourself, or in your home, honor yourself for showing up, for sharing your talents and skills and for putting your best foot forward.  If you volunteer for non-profits, honor yourself for your efforts to be of help and for supporting good causes.  If you have had challenges in your life, honor yourself for getting through the tough times and for learning and growing through them.  Honor yourself for your courage, commitment, determination, and creativity that is expressed in your daily life.

Honor yourself for being a friend/ sister/brother, wife/husband/significant other/daughter/son, mentor/teacher/guide/mother/father/grandparent – and honor yourself for being human and for being spirit in human embodiment.  Honor yourself for continuing to learn through active engagement in relationships.  It is essential to honor yourself, for as you do, you enhance the light and love energies in your field, thus opening the way to more honoring and love to come to you from the outside. But it begins with you. It begins now.  Happy New Year!

Love, Light and Blessings,  Robin

Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks

At this time of the year, the holiday of Thanksgiving, I like to ponder those things that I am thankful for in my life.  I am thankful for my ability to be of service to Spirit and for the gifts that have been bestowed upon me of sight and healing.  I am deeply grateful for my two sons who give me the most incredible joy and the greatest gift of learning and growing every day of my life. I am a better person because of them. I am thankful for health and the fact my body supports me well.  I am thankful for all of my wonderful friends who share with me in varying degrees support, long talks, laughter, food, wine, hikes in nature, and concerts.  I am thankful for each individual who is reading this post. I am honored that you want to read something I have written and in this way share a part of my life. I am thankful to all my clients, old and new, who have given me the honor and privilege of being witness to and assist in their healing process.  I am thankful to all the many spiritual allies who provide healing and share information for me, my family, friends and clients on a daily basis. I continue to be amazed at the magnificence of Spirit.  I am thankful for Mother Nature – her beauty and how much she gives to all.  I am thankful for all life on this planet.   I am thankful for the sun, moon, stars and the planets.

Two years ago I wrote a post about a wonderful Thanksgiving my son and I had in Wolf Creek Colorado. We skied all day and in the evening we stayed in our hotel room and ate cheese and crackers for our Thanksgiving meal while we watched a wonderfully touching movie.  It was one of the best Thanksgivings ever! This year I wanted to stay at home as I have recently been traveling quite a bit.  So I told my son that we could create our meal, anything we wanted as long as it wasn’t a traditional turkey with all the trimmings. I did that for over 20 years and am now pleased to break all the traditions on this day.  Besides, I will do plenty of traditional cooking for the Christmas holiday.  So….drum roll….our Thanksgiving meal will consist of a supreme plate of nachos with the works – beans, meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and jalapeños.  In addition my son will have filet mignon wrapped in bacon and I will have a piece of wild caught salmon. He will have soda and I will have wine.  I might make a caesar salad or roast some vegetables but only if I feel like it in the moment. We will have chocolates for dessert and no pumpkin pie.   We will play games and watch movies.  We might go for a walk.   My heart is happy.

I hope that today, on this day of Thanksgiving, you are able to reflect and perhaps give voice to those things in your life for which you are grateful.  I wish all of you an abundant day of food and company that make your hearts and stomachs happy!   Blessings,  Robin
